Microsurgery of the Larynx

From the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland. M icrosurgery of the larynx involves working at some distance through a tube of relatively small diameter with fairly long instruments.

The department has round the clock paediatrician coverage. Outpatient consultation can be had from 10 in the morning to 8 in the evening. Vaccination clinic also runs through out the op time. The inpatient services range from daycare treatment to level 2 PICU and level 2 NICU. The department of neonatology is manned by qualified and empathetic nursing staff to deliver tender loving care. The department regularly takes care of babies suffering from delayed cry after birth to neonatal seizures, respiratory distress in newborns with advanced cpap ventilation and neonatal jaundice and sepsis.


 

The PICU can boast of treating many a paediatric emergencies including jaundice, dengue fever, seizures, head injuries, viral hemorrhagic fevers, thrombocytopenic purpura etc to mention a few.
